Your DVR lets you set up a recording that will record the episodes of a TV series. This saves you from having to set up individual recordings for a TV program that you want to regularly record.
There are two ways to set up a TV Series recording:
From the TV Listings in the Guide
The first button press records the program, the second button press records the TV series.
From the DVR menu in the Guide

There can be several reasons why a series recording didn't record an episode of a program:
Tip: Ideally, you should try to ensure that you have at least 10% free space on your DVR's hard drive when you record new programs. Remember that if you record a program in HD, more hard drive space is required to store that program than the same program if recorded in standard definition.
The TV listings in your Interactive Media Guide are provided to Verizon from a third party service. Sometimes the timing information your DVR receives doesn't match the actual broadcast schedule. This can cause your DVR to not record the first few minutes of a program or stop recording before the program has completely ended
To fix this you can set your DVR to record a few minutes before or after a program's scheduled broadcast time.
