The Fios Network Extender is a wireless network adapter that extends the reach and potential for your wireless network in your home or office. The Fios Network Extender creates a wireless access point anywhere there is a coax connection, expanding the reach of the existing wireless network. The device receives the wireless signal from your current router and recasts the signal so it can reach areas of your home beyond the reach of the router alone.
Before purchasing a network extender, you may want to check your router's location to ensure you aren’t limiting the range by its proximity to walls or other barriers that may impact the wireless signal.
If you are currently using the Fios™ Advanced Wi-Fi Router (MI424WR rev. I Router) or Fios Quantum™ Gateway (G1100) , you can purchase a Fios Network Extender from the Fios Equipment and Accessories Store. The Fios Network Extender is a wireless network adapter that expands the reach and potential of your Fios home or office wireless network.
1. My Fios Network Extender is not replicating the Network name (SSIDs) from my router, what should I do?
You need to reboot the device by removing and reinserting the power cable of your Fios Network Extender. Within 5 minutes of the reboot, the Wi-Fi Name(s) should be configured on your Fios Network Extender.
2. Why do I need a Wi-Fi extender?
Some homes or businesses may be too large for the router signal to cover the entire location. There could also be types of interference, such as walls, microwaves, cordless phones, etc., that can weaken the Wi-Fi signal.
Wi-Fi extenders can help extend the reach of the Wi-Fi signal in locations of your home or business where the Wi-Fi signal is weak or no signal is available. To get the most out of your Wi-Fi extender, place it in an optimal location. Network Extender.

supposed to replicate the Wi-Fi name and password from my router?
All Fios Network Extenders support dual band Wi-Fi networks (2.4GHz & 5GHz)
with its own default Wi-Fi Names and password. When the Fios Network
Extender is connected to your home or business network, the extender receives
the Wi-Fi names from your router and replaces its default Wi-Fi Names with
those of the router. If you choose not to have your Fios Network Extender
replicate the router Wi-Fi Names, you can disable this feature and use the Wi-Fi name and password printed on the Wi-Fi extender sticker. Please refer to the User Guide for instructions on disabling this feature.
12. Can I connect my extender to my router wirelessly?
No. Fios Network Extenders support WPS (Wireless Protected Setup) to

are configured, the extender requires a connection back to the router via coax or
Ethernet in order to pass data traffic back to router and on to the Internet.
13. What does the WPS (Wireless Protected Setup) button do?
WPS will allow the extender to replicate the Wi-Fi Names configuration from the
router.
14. I already purchased a non-Verizon extender; can I continue to use it?
Yes. Non-Verizon extenders can be used with Fios routers.
15. If I’m using my coax outlet with a Set-Top Box, how can I connect my

Please refer to the Quick Start Guide for wiring setup.
16. Does my extender need to stand upright?
