Introducing Fios TV voice control with Amazon Alexa

Fios TV meet Alexa.

With Fios TV and Amazon Alexa, you can enjoy easy, hands-free voice control over your TV. Use your voice to control your Fios Multi-Room DVR Enhanced or Premium set-top boxes. You can tell Alexa what you want to watch, search for TV shows, movies, and actors from the guide and Video On Demand catalog. Use your voice to pause, play, fast-forward, or rewind. So you can spend more time watching and less time searching and clicking. Get there faster. It’s a no-brainer. Literally.

Pair your set-top box with an Alexa-enabled compatible device and start talking. Just ask, "Alexa turn on ESPN." Using Alexa with Fios TV requires internet-connected Fios Multi-Room DVR Enhanced or Premium service and is compatible with all Echo devices including: Echo Plus, Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Spot, or Echo Show.

Setting up Alexa on Fios TV

Can’t wait to get started with Alexa on your Fios TV? Here’s how:

Check: Make sure you have a compatible Fios TV set-top box: VMS1100 or IPC1100. Learn more and see photos.
Enable: Open the Alexa app on a mobile device and select Music, Video & Books. When prompted, enter your Verizon Fios user ID and password.
Pair: The Alexa app will locate all discoverable Fios TV set-top boxes and list them. Select the one you want to pair your Amazon Echo device to. Each set-top box can be paired with its own Alexa-enabled compatible device.
Test: Try saying, “Alexa, tune to Channel 899” to test your Amazon Echo device and pairing connection to your Fios TV. If Alexa is not responding as expected, please check FAQs at Verizon Support.

Fios TV with Alexa supported on these devices

Control your Fios TV service with your voice by pairing it up with any of the Echo devices listed below.
