Not and LG but definitely a good phone. The battery life is excellent. Took some getting used to but love the phone. Definitely good for those who do not want iPhones .

Yes, I'd recommend this product.
This is a great phone for those who don't want a smartphone or like me need one to do the occasional break from my Iphone. It's not thick like the kyocera duraxv lte and more of a throw back phone. Battery life is really good and the os doesn't lag when going on the internet to check fb, etc. Nice to take a break now and then from constantly looking at my phone.

Hi BILL, We are sorry to hear that your recent experience with the GoFlipV did not meet your expectation and wanted to provide help. The Contact list may be found in two ways: 1) First, press the big center button marked OK to see the menu. Move the selection cursor to Contacts and press the OK button again. You will see a list of contacts. Or 2) Press the right side of the ring around the OK key. One press will immediately display your Contact list. Page 23 of the owner’s manual contains more detail. The Owner’s manual can be downloaded for free using this link: https://ss7.vzw.com/is/content/VerizonWireless/Catalog%20Assets/Devices/Alcatel-go-flip/alcatel-go-flip-v-ug.pdf Also the Alarm may be found by pressing OK to show the Menu > then selecting Tools > then Clock. Alarm is the first option. For more details, see page 35 of the owner’s manual. Finally, the speaker phone can be activated only after a call is started. Please enter the number, press the green button, then press the center OK button. This will turn on the loudspeaker for your call. We hope these answers will improve your experience with the GoFlipV phone. Thanks for choosing Verizon.
Totally solid option

I rarely write reviews, but had so much uncertainty about opting for this basic phone, based on the reviews I did see, that I feel moved to weigh in. This is a perfectly fine flip phone. Initially I was a bit disappointed with how it compared to my ten-year-old LG flip phone; the buttons do feel a bit cheaper, it's quite a bit bigger, and overall it does convey a indisputable sense of the late '90s. But it's been a fairly swift adjustment. The call quality is quite good. The menu interfaces are a bit hard to understand at first, but eventually began to make sense. Messaging also seems to work fine, with the exception of the apostrophe character seeming not to exist (?!). And best of all for my purposes, the phone includes a headphone jack that will allow me to have my hands free while I use it--free to cling to my dream of living in a world without smartphones.

My son wanted a basic flip phone with no bells or whistles. Talk and text only. Not a lot of choice in that area anymore. Most have access to the web whether you want it or not. Turns out, I had another choice--although not a flip phone, but at the time, I didn't know it. Despite the dismal ratings the Go Flip V has, I purchased it anyway. Hoped for the best . . . He's had this phone now for going on 4 months with no issues. Not one. All calls are clear and loud enough to be heard by someone standing next to him. I'm amazed and thankful that it's working out. Don't understand the complaints about it not able to access the net. It is not a smart phone. And for my son, so far, it's exactly what he asked for. Wondering if phone service is the matter with some of the others. Where we lived a year ago, our better phones sometimes had issues. Now, all is well with every phone in the house.

Yes, I'd recommend this product.
I see a flock of 1* ratings for this phone which seem to be ALL written by maybe -2- people with a grudge. I found the phone to be handy and useful and compact, something I need in a phone. Likewise, I just want a PHONE. Telephone calls. Texts. THAT is what I need and this one does that. None of the flaws listed by the misanthropes have been evident in the one I have. If you want an inexpensive useful phone that makes calls and does texts, then it's fine for you. If you want it to think for you and jump through hoops and fix you breakfast and then shoot a feature film, it's not for you... go get a life.
*All battery life claims are approximate and based on a mixed use profile (which includes both usage and standby time) under optimal network conditions. Actual battery performance will vary and depends on many factors including signal strength, network and device settings, temperature, battery condition, and usage patterns.
