Most phone numbers are eligible to be transferred to Verizon from another carrier. Some numbers may be limited based on your geography, service area coverage, technology or ownership of the line you're transferring the number from.

- Landline – 2-10 business days to complete your transfer.
Note: These are average time frames. With certain circumstances, it could take more or less time.

What do I need to do before I transfer my number to Verizon?
Before you transfer your number to Verizon:
- Make sure it is unlocked with your current service provider.
- Have a Verizon SIM or e-SIM for it to work on the Verizon network.
- Provide the required information.

What information will I need to provide when transferring my number to Verizon wireless?
When transferring your number, please be ready to provide the following information:
- The current active number that you want to transfer to Verizon
- The account number of your old service provider as it appears on your bill
Note: If you’re requesting to have your number transferred in-person, please bring your most recent bill with you. - A PIN or Password. This is an additional level of security you may have added to your account. It is required to complete your number transfer. This is not the same number you use to sign in to My Verizon.
- A phone number where you can be reached during the transfer process (other than the number you’re transferring to Verizon)
Providing incorrect information delays the transfer process because a Customer Service Representative will need to contact you for the correct details.
If you need more time to find some of the information above you can still begin the transfer process and select the transfer later option. You'll receive a text message with a link to transfer your number when you are ready. -
Should I cancel my existing service before transferring my mobile number to Verizon wireless?
No, your number must remain active. Make sure you don't have any pending orders before you transfer your number. Once your number is successfully transferred to Verizon wireless your old provider's account will disconnect automatically.

Will Verizon wireless charge me any fees for transferring my service?
We don't charge a specific fee for transferring a number. However, if you switch to another service provider you may incur an Early Termination Fee (ETF) and any accrued charges.
When you transfer your number from your current service provider, you may incur an Early Termination Fee (ETF) and any accrued charges, if it's before the end of your minimum contract term. If you purchased your device with device payments you'll be responsible for the remaining balance if there is one.
