Students unlimited plan discount FAQs

To qualify for the students discount you must:

• Be an actively enrolled student (including online enrollment) in a U.S. secondary educational institution of higher learning, including undergraduate, graduate, and/or vocational school or institution.
• Have up to 2 smartphones or basic phones on a qualifying Verizon monthly unlimited plan. Accounts with 3 or more phone lines are not eligible. This promotion is limited to accounts with 2 phone lines maximum. If a 3rd phone line is added the discount no longer applies. You can still add connected devices such as watches and tablets to your account without losing your student discount.
• Be the Account Owner or Account Manager. Visit our Account Manager FAQs to learn how to add an Account Manager.
• Validate your status as a current college student with UNiDAYS as part of the discount registration.

College students can save up to $25 a month on Unlimited Verizon wireless service. Get $10 off (for 1 line) or $25 a month off (for 2 lines) on these plans:

• Start Unlimited, Play More Unlimited, Do More Unlimited, Get More Unlimited, Just Kids*
• Go Unlimited,** Beyond Unlimited,** Above Unlimited

Note: Go Unlimited,** Beyond Unlimited** and Above Unlimited are no longer available to add to accounts. If you have these plans you can keep them. You can also mix and match them with our current unlimited plans.

*The Just Kids plan requires a parent line with an unlimited data plan.

**Go Unlimited and Beyond Unlimited plans purchased on or before 6/17/18 can't be mixed and matched and are not eligible for this discount. You can switch to a current unlimited plan any time in My Verizon.

The monthly student discount depends on how many phones on qualifying unlimited plans you have:

• 1 phone - $10/month discount per account
• 2 phones - $25/month discount per account

If you're not currently signed up for one of the qualifying Verizon monthly unlimited plans, you’ll need to change your plan first in My Verizon. 

When your unlimited plan is active, return to our Students Discounts page and choose Register or Validate now to sign up.

Go to our Students Discounts page and tap or click Shop to purchase a smartphone. As an active student you will receive the discount depending on the number of lines you activated on your new Verizon account.

Note: As a new customer, you must choose Start Unlimited, Play More Unlimited, Do More Unlimited, Get More Unlimited or Just Kids* to qualify for the students discount.

*The Just Kids plan requires a parent line with an unlimited data plan.

Once you redeem your student discount, it is yours for 4 non-consecutive years. If you choose to take a semester off, you will not receive the discount during that time. When you re-enroll in classes, the discount will be available again. When you return, you will need to re-verify that you are actively enrolled in an eligible secondary educational institution.

The college student on your account must be the one validating for the college student discount, which means they will have to be an Account Manager or the Account Owner.
