To transfer one or more lines of service from one Verizon account to another, existing accounts will need to be up-to-date on payments and both parties must meet the requirements below. You can also transfer service to a new Verizon account.
Relinquishing party
To be eligible to transfer your line from your account:
- The line you're transferring must have been active for 30 days (5 for Business)
- Know the name and email address of the assuming party
- Have the consent of the account owner or account manager*
Assuming party
To be eligible to have a line transferred to your account, you must:
- Be 18 years or older (19 in Alabama)
- Pass a soft credit check
- Complete the transfer within 15 days of receiving the email (30 days for Business)
- Be eligible to assume the device payment agreement if one is being transferred. Learn more about Device Payments.
