Location Technology

The Location Technology team is on a mission to bridge the physical and digital worlds, using the power of location intelligence. The team’s suite of location services enables customers to enhance their businesses via customizable geospatial software solution

The team is also developing Digital Space Orchestration, which allows indoor and outdoor spaces to be digitized, managed, updated and refreshed in near real-time. Digital Space Orchestration leverages Verizon’s DNA in connectivity to anticipate and automate solutions, empowering pioneers to make more powerful and actionable decisions.

Skyward

Today, Skyward’s drone operations management platform provides enterprises with drone fleet management, command and control, and access to leading airspace and ground intelligence. And, with Verizon’s connectivity plan for drones - Airborne LTE Operations - Skyward customers can connect drones to Verizon 4G LTE.

Skyward is working with Verizon to test 5G and Mobile Edge Compute for advanced applications like flying beyond visual line of sight and bringing the power of the Verizon network to the sky. The teams have achieved industry-first technical achievements including aerial applications for devices connected to 5G Ultra Wideband.

Building on a foundation of deep customer insights and market analyses, the work they do generates blueprints for new business ventures by iteratively testing and validating hypotheses. They focus on new technology, platforms, and opportunities that not only explore the “Art of the Possible” but analyze and understand the “Path of the Probable.”
